I would like to provide you with some information about my training, orientation, and current work as a therapist.
I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. After working as a scientist for a couple of years, I decided to return to school and received a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University.
I have trained and worked throughout the mental health system including both in-patient and out-patient health centers such as: Suicide and Crisis Services, The Bill Wilson Center, The Center for Family Development, Wilcox High School, The Sequoia Alcohol and Drug Recovery Center, and The Kaiser Chemical Dependency Recovery Program in Santa Clara, CA.
I am now a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#38241) in private practice in Saratoga, CA.
I currently work with couples, adults, and teens. The focus in my general practice is on aiding clients to connect more deeply with their selves, others, and life processes.
I was trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioral methods, object relations theory, positive psychology, mindfulness, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I also borrow from and have high regard for Jungian theory, Gorski’s relapse prevention methods, Gottman marital skills, Imago healing work, and 12-Step philosophy. I incorporate techniques throughout your sessions in accordance with your individual needs. I also have particular interest and training in helping individuals address faith-based topics which will be helpful to certain clients.
