I would like to provide you with some information about my training, orientation, and current work as a therapist.
I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. After working as a scientist for a couple of years, I decided to return to school and received a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University.
I have trained and worked throughout the mental health system including both in-patient and out-patient health centers such as: Suicide and Crisis Services, The Bill Wilson Center, The Center for Family Development, Wilcox High School, and The Kaiser Chemical Dependency Recovery Program.
I have now been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#38241) in private practice in Saratoga, CA for over 20 years.
I am trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy, object relations/attachment theory, and positive psychology. I also utilize Gottman marital skills, Imago healing work, and 12-Step philosophy. I incorporate techniques throughout your sessions based on your preferences and individual needs. I also have particular interest and training in helping individuals address faith-based/biblical topics which will be helpful for certain clients.
